Week 2.2 - Feb 19

Well, I got sick this week. I was around a bunch of little kids on Monday and you know what they are like, sneezing and spitting all over everything. I wasn't sick enough to lay me out though, and trained through it.

The week was a little short on running, but I got in a solid Thursday morning run, a decent 15kilo race on Saturday, and a 4 hr ride on Sunday. Total mileage = 11,500 yd swim, 198m bike, 45m run.

Next week look for a sick amount of cycling and just key runs rather than indiscriminate garbage miles.

lunch - 8m EZ ride to pool, 4000 swim, 8m EZ ride home
  • 800 warm up
  • 400 kick
  • 1 x 500, 400, 300, 200, 100
  • 8 x 50 kick
  • 14 x 50 free on :05 seconds rest
  • 200 swim down
PM - off
Tuesday AM - off
lunch - weights
PM - 9.5m track run
  • 2 mile warm up
  • 6 x 1 mile, alternate fast, semi-fast
  • 5:36, 6:22, 5:35, 6:12, 5:39, 6:09
  • no rest between. this was fast fartlek stuff
  • 1.5m warm down
Wednesday AM - 3700 yd swim
  • 600 free easy
  • 400 kick, then general stroke stuff
  • 200 warm down
lunch - off
PM
  • 42m bike (10m warm up, 25 fast group ride ~27-30mph, 7m warm down)
  • skipped the brick run, pretty tired.
Thursday AM - 1:43 hr run. pretty slow for the most part with about 20 minutes of quicker running in the middle.
lunch - weights
PM - 3800 yd swim
  • 1000 warm up
  • 1 x 100, 200, 300, 400
  • 1 x 400, 300, 200, 100
  • went 4:22, 4:23 on the 400s, everything else semi-easy stroke form.
  • 10 x 50 free kick
  • 200 swim down
Friday AM - off
lunch - 30m bike
  • 10mile warm up
  • 8 x 1 minute accelerations with 1-2 minutes between
  • 10m warm down
PM - 4m easy run
Saturday AM - Gasparilla 15K race(total run about 13, time 57:35, 5k splits were 17:45, 19:14, 20:35, ouch!!)
lunch - nap
PM - 1.5 hour (26m) EZ ride
Sunday AM - 4 hr solor ride, 4.5 mile brick run
